Omgemini Session Update 2-9-16
Setting sail on our own

With the battle of ship to ship over and the daughter of the captain returned to his loving arms, we search the confiscated ship for treasure and cargo. It is a more ornate ship stocked with enough rations for a voyage minus a crew. We find papers written by an anonymous author describing a failed meeting to retrieve the captains daughter and a new meeting place near what we later find out to be a light house some distance away. This meeting is supposed to be at mid summers peak a few weeks away.

The captain offers to travel at a reduced rate of speed so we can pilot our new ship back to the main coastal city for repair, supplies and a crew. Once we travel that distance, we enter the city and seek out what we need but keeping in mind the date we are closing in on for meeting the writer of the letter found.

Once we find a crew we head off along the coast in a northwestwardly direction. Though this will take a bit longer to our destination, it will be safer against the rough open sea. The possibility of pirates along the coastal waters is higher but we travel day and night to make up distance needed. One night we are boarded by sea creatures that attack from both starboard and port sides. Between magical darkness and sword swings, the battle runs long and as more of these creatures appear, they quickly drag off their dead and return to the sea.

Off to the rescue

Into the world of Omgemini the forming group find themselves separated by freedom. A daughter to a ship’s captain invites Harrud, Volkir, Carbaran and others to join his crew in the chase down the coast line to find the pirate ship that flies a flag of false colors. To help find and rescue his daughter and bring her to safety.

Boarding a large ship containing a full crew along with a wizard and weapons, we make south in pursuit of this enemy vessel. Gaining upon there location by way of an arcane provided breeze we near this ship ready for whatever the encounter will bring. Closing in we are fired upon so once close enough to board, planks are lowered and crewmen mass to attack.

Through sword, spell and bravery we watch the crew battle their way on board as we follow ready to deal with the ships captain along with a few of his hobgoblins lieutenants. During the battle Kura and Tara-Ka’a free themselves from the brig below decks and fight their way to the upper deck.

We are victorious in battle and now have control of this vessel but find our captain’s daughter was transferred off this ship at the last port it made birth. What path will we take?

A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
